The Rock's Business Growth Strategy

At The Rock Building Society, we have built a reputation as a Queensland success story. But that's not where our vision stops. The Rock is determined to continue to grow our business and further increase value for our shareholders and customers.

In order to achieve this, we have a comprehensive strategy in place, built on forging strong and lasting relationships with customers, shareholders, staff, business partners and the community. Our plan encompasses a raft of initiatives, a number of which are detailed below.

It's this approach to business that has won The Rock recognition as finalists and award winners at the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Rockhampton Regional Development and Ergon Energy Business Excellence Awards.*

Key features of our business growth strategy include:

  1. Further expanding our branch and mini-branch network across regional Australia.
  2. Continuing to grow our retail deposits through expanded networks and through the establishment of further strategic business agreements.
  3. Developing enhanced loan products.
  4. Leveraging the competitive advantage gained through the successful implementation of our new core banking system in late October 2009.
  5. Further developing our insurance broking business, RockSure.
  6. Fostering strong links with the communities in which we do business. This includes assisting in the fight against cancer with a $150,000 donation to assist with the completion of the new Central Queensland Cancer Centre and corporate partnerships with both Camp Quality and RSCPA Central Queensland.
