The CQ NRL Bid Junior Development Program is an innovative approach to developing and building an NRL team from the ground up. Young locals from the CQ region undertake training, with an aim to become highly skilled and elite NRL players that will form part of the CQ team if the bid is successful.
As part of our commitment to the young Queenslanders in our community, The Rock proudly sponsors the CQ NRL Bid Junior Development Program, and has done since 2012.
In that time, The Rock has supported 56 young Central Queenslanders from the age of 12, to help them reach their full potential. Activities have included holistic training and development, covering things such as leadership skills, mentoring, team skills, social presentation, and, of course, rugby.
In 2012, rugby league player Justin Loomans spoke to the CQ NRL Bid Development players about the importance of being financially savvy and why you should save. It’s just one of the many ways we’re supporting a community passion and investing in the futures of young ambitious players.
